LEAD DEVELOPER February 2013 to present
Xennsoft, Draper, Utah  
  • Led a team of .NET developers in the maintenance and enhancement of enterprise level, web based business applications utilized by numerous multi-million dollar multi-national retail clients.
  • Worked closely with clients to assist in identifying and defining functional requirements that met their business objectives.
  • Implemented new procedures that streamlined development, improved team collaboration and stabilized the deployment process of new functionality. This included migrating word-of-mouth knowledge and experience about the systems into the organizations intranet.
  • Implemented a comprehensive and well documented Quality Assurance process which significantly reduced the number of bugs making their way to the production systems. This included developing an automated interface testing system using Ruby on Rails and Watir.
SENIOR DEVELOPER March 2012 to December 2012
Centeva, South Jordan, Utah  
  • Installed, managed and trained employees on the use of SharePoint 2010. Developed architecture for and implemented a SharePoint intranet, integrated with Team Foundation Server for project management capabilities.
  • Installed, managed and trained employees on the use of Team Foundation Server 2010. Designed a TFS framework for source control and to implement a structured software development lifecycle.
  • Provided technical and leadership expertise in the definition and implementation of a software development lifecycle following a blended Agile and waterfall architecture consistent with the needs of the business and clients.
  • Primary developer for .NET workflow applications in support of existing client contracts. Applications included design and development of a .NET Framework reconciliation tool for the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, allowing them to improve their business processes and reconcile $350 million dollars’ worth of transactions between their finance and acquisition systems.
  • Designed a machine learning system for the reconciliation tool which allowed for intelligent recommendations for transaction matching. The system would identify new patterns in matching, improving its recommendations the more the system was used. Initial evaluations of the system showed a 92% accuracy rate in its recommendations.
SENIOR ARCHITECT / TEAM LEAD April 2009 to February 2012
University of Utah / Veterans Administration, Salt Lake City, Utah  
  • Led team of Business Analysts, Quality Assurance and Developers in the design, development and maintenance of automated workflow applications served through SharePoint 2007.
  • Designed applications that included the dynamic generation of SharePoint project sites, permissions management, approval and feedback notifications, process rules engines and workflows built on Windows Workflow Foundation and the Nintex development system. Some of these applications were recognized throughout the Veterans Administration and generated interest by additional groups such as the National Institute of Health and Department of Defense.
  • Oversaw the design and implementation of a TFS infrastructure and medium sized SharePoint 2010 farm and the migration of the SharePoint 2007 systems.
  • Responsible for the mentoring and training of junior and non-SharePoint .NET developers.
  • Applied Agile project management methodologies, where applicable, throughout the development lifecycle.
WEB APPLICATION DEVELOPER December 2006 to April 2009
ASAP Printing, Salt Lake City, Utah  
  • Assumed ownership of their stalled .NET web-based print design application project and rapidly completed and launched the system, opening new revenue channels to major retailers such as Kinko's and UPS.
  • Led user testing and system improvements by designing test scenarios and personally visiting retailers as a consumer to witness how the system is used in a real world environment.
  • Responsible for working with clients to design, develop and maintain multiple custom implementations of the .NET print design application
WEB APPLICATION DEVELOPER June 2004 to June 2006

  • Led the initiative to completely re-architect, redesign and rebuild the organizations Intranet system, utilizing ASP.NET 2.0/C#/ADO.NET, significantly increasing the availability of information throughout the organization.
  • Rebuilt legacy applications as .NET applications and web services to be delivered through the company intranet, expanding the accessibility of critical information.
  • Improved the consistency and reliability of information through the integration of several disparate information systems including Human Resources, Training, Medical, Safety and Project Communications into a single, comprehensive interface.
  • Increased the speed and accessibility of critical data through the implementation of enterprise level applications such as MS Project Server, SQL Server Reporting Services and Syberworks Learning Management System.
